The ACCESS-MSU partnership was formed in May of 2010 for the purpose of conducting research on the health of Arab/Chaldean Americans in Michigan. In March 2011, the partnership conducted a pilot study of the health of 89 Arabs/Chaldeans living in southeast Michigan using a modified version of the Behavioral Risk Factor Survey (BRFS). In 2013, in partnership with MDCH, the partnership conducted an Arab/Chaldean oversampling of the 2013 MiBRFS using an Arab surname sampling strategy, producing the first statewide probability sample of Arab/Chaldeans.
