Research Associate, Community Evaluation and Research Collaborative

Dr. KyungSook Lee, Ph.D., is a research associate for the Community Evaluation and Research Collaborative (CERC) in the Office of University Outreach and Engagement (UOE) at Michigan State University. Lee holds a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from Michigan State University.

Lee has extensive experience working in UOE since 2008 on community-based research projects, including PAS, Wiba Anung, DAPCEP, Healthy Babies, and HSOS in which she serves as data manager, data analyst, and report writer. Her work focuses on maintaining large, complex longitudinal data sets and conducting sophisticated analyses of quantitative data using statistical software tools such as SPSS, Mplus, R, and HLM. The statistical methods she has experienced include linear models (e.g., regression, ANOVA, GLM, Configural Frequency Analysis, HLM, etc.), multivariate models, log-linear models, latent variable modeling (e.g., confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation modeling, latent class analysis, etc.), multilevel models, longitudinal analysis, psychometrics, Bayesian data analysis, survival analysis, missing data imputation, and sampling methodology (e.g., complex samples).

Lee has research interests in the application of quantitative methods in program evaluation and community-based research projects that have addressed family environmental factors, classroom quality, and cognitive and social-emotional development for young children. In addition, her research interests include exploring the complex problems and the sustainability of social and human behavioral systems nationally or internationally using system dynamics modeling techniques.
